As a Designer with Myer, you will play a pivotal role in executing the Myer Exclusive Brands product strategy, specifically Casual Menswear - in alignment with the Myer merchandise strategy, by creating and executing the design direction for aligned brands.

* Hybrid working model, partly working remotely as well as our support office in Docklands
Please note: to be considered for this role, you will be required to upload a sample folio of your work, that demonstrates relevant designs/previous work - examples of both cut and sew, as well as woven fabrications. Please do so by uploading a low-resolution folio into the ‘supporting documentation’ field of the application form.
About the Role:
* Responsible designing product from concept phase, through to production
* Work to deliver our brand vision through the creation of original artwork through the use of CAD & illustration along with accurate design packs with specifications
* Create design direction for the brand, including mood boards, colour stories and print research
* Create a distinct handwriting and design aesthetic for the brand, including constant evolution and development
* Design and develop new styles to inject into the product range, including sourcing new fabrics and trims
* Administration of range boards, flow boards and updated visuals for the range
* Prepare technical specifications of your print designs that are suitable for production including; briefing the placement, size, colouration, and type of printing methodology
* Evolve and develop the MEB brand DNAs in collaboration with the buying team
* Work with buyers on new sourcing opportunities to push the brands handwriting forward develop appropriate qualities, sampling and pricing
About You:
* 3+ years’ experience in a design or product development role or retail equivalent
* Tertiary education in design or equivalent industry experience related to the design role
* Experience within Menswear is desirable
* Proven ability to interpret international trends for Australian market, and then communicate these effectively
* Strong understanding of construction methods and garment finishing
* Strong knowledge of fabric finishes, treatments, washes, weights, and fabric properties
* High proficiency using Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Applications
* Retail, financial and business acumen
* Ability to work in a fast paced team environment, working closely with the product development and buying teams
* Strong time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
* Advanced understanding of the market, customer segmentation, trends and competitive landscape
