The Role & The Team:
As an Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Training Instructor, the successful applicant will be working within the ARFFS Training team delivering nationally recognised Public Safety training along with operational courses.
This position is based in Melbourne at Airservices Tullamarine facility. The position is 5 days a week, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work required.
Reporting to the ARFFS Training Lead and Senior Instructors, you will be required to deliver and participate in the review and development of ARFFS training material including Public Safety Units and operational competency-based qualifications. Key responsibilities include:
* Ensure course delivery is efficient.
* Undertake robust and ethical assessment of trainee progression and competency against course learning outcomes.
* Identify and champion the paramount importance of safety within ARFFS training and direct training activities.
* Regularly review learning and development standards, curriculum, and courseware
* Provide learning support and coaching to training officers and ARFFS staff.

The Person:
You will be team focussed, have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and act with honestly, integrity and ethically with care and diligence.
In addition, the successful applicant will have:
* Demonstrated extensive knowledge and practical experience in ARFFS operations.
* Minimum Certificate IV in Public Safety (Fire Fighting Supervision).
* Diploma in Public Safety (Fire Fighting Management) desirable.
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent.
* Demonstrated knowledge of VET framework and CASA and ASQA standards.
* Demonstrated ability to work well in small and large team environments.
* Demonstrated understanding and upholding of Airservices values in all situations.
