The Role: Reporting to Production Engineering Manager the Production Engineer will oversee the design, development, and optimisation of manufacturing processes for tray and canopy production.
This role is key to driving operational efficiency, maintaining high-quality standards, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance production performance all while ensuring strict adherence to safety and compliance regulations.
Key Responsibilities include: Compliance & Safety: Ensure all manufacturing operations adhere to relevant regulations, safety standards, and internal policies, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Manufacturing Process Development: Design and optimise production processes for automotive components and systems, focusing on maximising efficiency, quality, and consistency.
Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve production issues through root cause analysis, developing corrective and preventive action plans to ensure continuous improvement.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers, procurement, and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions from product design to production.
Project Management: Lead initiatives focused on process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
Manage project timelines and ensure milestones are met on schedule.
Equipment & Tooling: Assist in the selection, installation, and maintenance of production equipment and tooling.
Evaluate new technologies for potential integration to improve production capabilities.
The successful applicant must offer: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing or production engineering.
In-depth experience using Solidworks is essential.
Proficiency in manufacturing process simulation tools.
Strong analytical skills with experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
