What you'll do Senior Category Manager role brings the BIG W Transformation to life by leading Mission Strategies to buy the best range and create value and experience to attract current and new customers achieving sales, profit whilst optimising inventory. Build the category strategy by gaining a thorough understanding of customer insights & the market to contribute to the BIG W Strategy. Continuously coach, mentor and develop team members and direct reports to achieve business objectives. Lead in curating ranges, refine pricing and promotion channel plan in line with Category Strategy, using Customer and Market insights to ensure it's aligned to BIG W strategy. Partner with Suppliers to build relationship and optimise value creation in category to increase sales, profit and customer advocacy. Partner with all relevant functions to plan and execute Customer Plan activities (Brochure, Online, Social, Sales Plan, Events Space). Develop as a Senior Category Manager with clear development & succession plan to build trusted relationships within the BIG W business. What you'll bring You're curious and empathetic, and as a systems thinker you have an eye for the bigger picture. You thrive in ambiguity, and deal with complexity by collaborating with colleagues, listening to customers, testing ideas and continuously learning. Previous experience in category management within a large retail organisation (Health & Beauty highly regarded). Senior leadership and coaching experience, with exposure to managing through significant periods of change. Experience in commercial engagements, establishing contracts, legal revision, legal execution. Proven experience in strategic sourcing and NPD. Strong commercial and business acumen, including business case development & strategic initiatives.
