POSITION OVERVIEW As a Principal Engineer – Land Development, you will play a pivotal role in leading high-profile urban, land and subdivision projects from inception to completion. Leveraging your extensive engineering expertise, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery while fostering collaboration among internal teams, clients and external stakeholders. This position also includes mentoring a team of engineers and project managers and contributing to the growth of the business unit through client relationship management and adherence to industry standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead Project Design and Delivery Develop and manage the design and execution of urban, land and subdivision projects Drive projects from feasibility through to construction Ensure project designs align with client expectations and regulatory standards Project Management Oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met Proactively identify and mitigate project risks Conduct regular project reviews and implement improvements as necessary Team Leadership and Development Lead and mentor a team of engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration Set performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members Support professional development through training and career growth opportunities Client and Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure project success and future business opportunities Liaise with external authorities to secure necessary approvals and resolve project challenges Represent the organisation in client meetings and industry events Compliance and Quality Assurance Ensure all projects meet industry standards, safety regulations and quality benchmarks Monitor compliance throughout the project lifecycle and implement corrective measures when needed Stay informed on industry advancements and incorporate best practices into project execution Business Development Maintain existing client relationships and identify opportunities for new business Support the preparation of proposals and contribute to the bidding process Collaborate with leadership to align projects with organisational growth objectives Technical Expertise Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges Ensure the use of advanced tools and techniques to optimise project outcomes Conduct technical reviews and sign-off on key project milestones QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Extensive experience in urban and greenfield land development projects (10+ years) Previous local consultancy work with strong consulting engineering and project delivery skills Solid technical design background Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple deadlines Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain client relationships Must hold a University/ tertiary degree or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia is essential Obtained, or actively seeking Chartered Engineer status essential Minimum 10 years’ experience practising in land development projects essential Knowledge of WHS Acts/Legislation (desirable) Knowledge of Environment Legislation (desirable) #J-18808-Ljbffr
