Critical Care Unit - Nurse Unit Manager
Hobart Private Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Unit Manager to join our Critical Care team.

Hobart Private Hospital is one of the leading private healthcare providers in Tasmania located in the heart of the city. The hospital has 142 inpatient beds and provides a range of clinical services including general and specialty medical and surgical services, obstetrics, cardiology and angiography and a 24 hour Emergency Department.
Position Key Responsibilities –
·Provide leadership and direction to the ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital
1. Provide operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of the nursing care that is evidence based
2. Be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure the customer service is maintained at optimal levels
3. Participate in marketing initiatives of the hospital to promote growth, help identify clinical areas for expansion and represent the hospital at external clinical forums
4. Undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of nursing team
5. Work as part of the healthcare team, adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures and key performance indicators
6. Participate in working parties/committees and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvements through NSQHS, workplace health and safety and achievement of hospital accreditation
7. Take an active role in the management of WHS issues pertaining to the unit
Essential Criteria –
8. Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration
9. Post Graduate Certificate in related critical care stream
10. Demonstrated knowledge of delivering on key KPI’s
11. Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice and facilitation
12. High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
13. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
14. Senior Nurse with at least three years’ experience working in a managerial capacity
15. A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
16. Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
17. Proven time management and prioritisation skills
