Position Profile:
The Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Patient Transport Coordination Hub Communications and Scheduling Officers. It leads the coordination and liaison of the team for all transactional activities and escalations relating to non-emergency patient transport to ensure a high quality, timely, efficient and patient-centred coordination of transport services. The Supervisor liaises with internal and external stakeholders including contracted providers, nurse managers, ward clerks and clinicians to ensure best practice protocols are followed and transports occur within a safe and timely manner. This role will involve shift work on a rotating 24/7 roster.
ABOUT THE PATIENT TRANSPORT COORDINATION HUB (PaTCH)
The Patient Transport Coordination Hub (PaTCH) is an initiative of the State Health Operations Centre (SHOC) to coordinate bookings, scheduling and allocation of non-emergency patient transport in metropolitan WA. The aim of this centralised service is to improve the patient experience, minimise the use of emergency ambulances for non-emergency transport, enhance patient flow and improve the efficiency of our health system.
PaTCH aims to foster a culture of collaboration and transparency between transport providers and Health Service Providers (HSPs) that focusses on providing the best patient experience. It will do this by matching a patient’s transport requirements with the most suitable and available transport provider so that patients receive the most appropriate, safe and efficient transport based on their individual needs.
