Description
:As the General Manager, you will be responsible for driving profitability for one RaceTrac store and leading up to 45 employees. You will continually deliver on RaceTrac’s mission of making people’s lives simpler and more enjoyable through a focus on friendly service, food execution, cleanliness, building talent, and driving success.
Responsibilities:
1. Establish an environment of prompt, efficient, and courteous service and effectively engage in conflict management
2. Lead and direct positive and professional relationships with co-workers, direct reports, guests, and vendors
3. Communicate respectfully and maintain a consistent team-oriented attitude and store culture
4. Manage and mitigate any reported guest concerns on designated shifts with a sense of urgency and involve appropriate regional team members as needed
5. Efficiently complete guest transactions at the cash register or self-checkout stations and suggest products that complement purchases
6. Drive excellence in food service by executing designed processes, implementing goals to increase sales and margin, ensuring product quality, and using training resources
7. Ensure all food offers are available; ensure preparation areas and equipment are clean and properly maintained
8. Encourage and manage a high standard of store cleanliness
9. Direct, monitor, and adhere to all RaceTrac, federal, state, and local safety-related regulations, including food safety regulations
10. Execute shift duties, maintain overall presentation standards, and represent the RaceTrac brand

13. Lead the coaching, training, and assessment of direct reports while adhering to operational standards
14. Strategically direct control of inventory and the distribution of materials, merchandise, and supplies
15. Review financial statements, sales, analysis reports, and other performance data to measure productivity
16. Actively identify areas of operational improvements based on market trends
17. Develop and maintain a relationship with vendors to ensure efficient and correct deliveries
18. Ensure communication is passed to every team member in the store
19. Use company provided tools to coach, mentor and develop a high performing store team
20. Ensure all risk management issues are in compliance with company standards
21. Create or approve Management and Associate schedules to ensure proper staffing levels for expected sale volumes, while taking team member availability, payroll, and overtime costs into consideration
22. Own staffing in store by providing timely feedback on interviews to the recruiting team
23. Engage in the hiring of all store associates; develops managers to understand RaceTrac hiring processes and participate in hiring decisions
24. Write, implement, and monitor manager development and performance plans
25. Ensure proper procedures are followed in regards to hiring, promotions and separations
26. Ensure all team members follow policies and company standards at all times
27. Ensures that all team members have correct valid licenses as required by state or local laws
28. Have complete understanding of budget and cost trends that impact operations; proactively work to drive sales and overall financial health of the store
Qualifications:
29. High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed
30. 5+ years of prior food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience; retail management experience preferred
31. Previous experience working in high-volume, guest-focused, transactional environment preferred
32. Knowledge and skills in analyzing overall financial performance of the store including profit and loss statements
33. High School Diploma or GED completion or (actively working on it) required
34. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
35. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
36. Proven knowledge of Labor Laws and staffing best practices
37. Can lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly bend, stand, and reach while on the job
38. Must obtain and maintain Manager Food Handler certification
39. May be required to obtain and maintain alcohol server permit, based on local or state requirements
