A great opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team. The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing & managing the Thales Australia Payroll and superannuation, remitting payroll taxes and government reporting including preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end Payroll statements. You will ensure compliance with government regulations, establishing and implementing policies on matters such as Payroll advancements to employees and the hiring, training and supervision of Payroll staff. The Payroll Manager is also responsible for the management of the existing outsourced managed services, meeting agreed SLA and ensuring its continued improvement.

YOUR ROLE
Working from our Sydney HQ, Sydney Olympic Park, on Wann-gal land, your role purpose will be:
9. Responsible for the efficient end to end delivery of all Payroll services through leadership of the Payroll and Managed Service team
10. Accountable for the administration of the payroll function, including the accurate and timely preparation, calculation and disbursement of compensation, deductions, and payroll taxes.
11. Ensures that payroll processes are in accordance with federal and provincial employment standards and legislation.
12. Develop an effective working relationship across all areas of the business, with a focus on effective communication, early identification of service issues, escalation management and process improvement
13. Ensure risk and quality control for Payroll transactions, data and administration are in place including audit process are in place to ensure accuracy of payroll
14. Develop and enhance the self-service and automation progressing our employee experience and effectiveness of the Payroll function
15. Continually review processes to identify bottlenecks/opportunities for automation in the optimisation of service delivery and capacity
16. Drive and close out remaining implementation of Ramco solution
17. Oversight of program to ensure that solution meets future payroll and time and attendance requirements
YOUR EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
18. Strong experience in a transformative payroll manager role
19. Strong Australian payroll, superannuation and tax legislation
20. Demonstrated experience building new payroll service teams
21. Experience managing on shore and off shore teams
22. Pragmatic and proven approach to problem-solving and strong decision-making skills
23. Exceptional customer service skills with a strong ability to develop and maintain customer
24. Ability to influence, negotiate and to promote organisational processes and culture
25. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with an excellent telephone manner and ability to articulate accurate advice
26. Demonstrated experience in process improvement design and delivery
