Science Teacher - Full-time, Temporary
St Joseph's College is a regional Catholic school catering for students from Three-Year-Old to Year Twelve located 410km from Perth. A Science teacher is required to teach students in Years Seven-Twelve with the ability to teach one or more ATAR Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Human Biology). The College will meet the costs of relocation to Albany for the successful applicant. Selection Criteria The successful applicant must: • Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of the College in the performance of their duties.• Have a detailed knowledge of current curriculum developments in Science teaching.• Have the capacity to teach Year Eleven and Twelve ATAR Science. • Have excellent planning skills and the ability to create programs that cater for individual differences.• Have the ability to analyse and use data to inform teaching and learning practices in order to raise student levels of achievement.• Possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills so as to engage positively with colleagues, students and parents.• Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills that create a supportive and safe environment.• Have an excellent understanding of a variety of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.• Have the capacity to be a pro-active member of a professional learning community complying with legal, administrative and professional requirements.• Demonstrate an ability to integrate technology effectively into the daily classroom environment.• A preparedness to be fully involved in school activities such as camps.
