Casual Residential Care Worker opportunities within Gippsland region in Victoria.
24 Hour Priority Care Australia (24HPCA) are looking for experienced, qualified, and professional Residential Care Workers to work in Residential Youth Homes situated in the region of Victoria.
About the Role:
As a Residential Care Worker, you will be working directly with young people, assisting them to develop day-to-day life, social, and relationship skills, whilst maintaining a safe and positive environment.
Key duties can include:
* Engage with and provide trauma-informed therapeutic support to children and young people, 17 and under, who have complex behaviors.
* Assist young people in residential care to attend appointments and schooling by transporting them to and from these destinations.
* Support and motivate children and young people to participate in required daily activities such as self-care and independent living skills.
* Work to provide a safe and stable environment for children and young people.
* Demonstrate positive role modelling and mentoring to enable children and young people to meet their goals and achieve their full potential.
* Develop, implement, and monitor individual support plans.
* Case noting - Daily progress notes and Incident Reports.
* Support with the involvement of family and community where possible.
* Understanding and willingness to adhere to industry compliance.

About You:
Our ideal Residential Care Worker will showcase strong interpersonal skills and be able to quickly develop rapport with young people. You will be able to think on your feet and work autonomously as required. Remain calm and level-headed under pressure and have knowledge of how trauma, family violence, alcohol, and other drugs affect young people.
Mandatory Qualifications:
* Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, or the Diploma Community Services.
* Have completed the required following Industry Mandatory units:
o CHCPRT009 - Provide primary residential care / CHCPRT033 Provide support to children and youth in out of home care.
o CHCPRT010 / CHCPRT034 - Work with children and young people with complex trauma and attachment issues and needs.
o CHCMHS007 - Work effectively in trauma-informed care.
o CHCCCS009 - Facilitate responsible behaviour.
The following are also required to obtain employment with 24 Hour Priority Care Australia:
* Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Training - highly desirable.
* Current First Aid Certificate, including
o HLTAID010- Provide basic emergency life support.
o HLTAID011- Provide First Aid.
o HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting.
* Current CPR Certificate - HLTAID009- Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
* 22558VIC Supporting People with Disability to Use Medications Course or HLTHPS006 - Assist clients with medication.
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate.
* Current Working with Children Check (employee).
* National Police Check - Valid within the last 12 months.
* Minimum P2 - Victorian Driver's License.
* Reliable transport to travel between locations at short notice.
* Right to work or equivalent.
