Oversees the planning and management of the district’s trails network, including mountain bike trails and extended overnight trails (Bibbulmun, Cape to Cape and Munda Biddi Trails) and associated community group relationships. Maintains, reports on and oversees the management of the District’s PVS databases including RecData and VISTAT (visitation statistics) Liaises with recreation and community groups, key stakeholders, volunteers, community groups and associated Local Governments on activities relating to recreation and management in the conservation reserve system. Works with the District PVS Coordinator on other PVS initiatives as required and collaborates with the broader PVS team to deliver operational requirements. Sound knowledge and experience in the operational implementation of works programs, preferably including trail construction and maintenance. Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and managing works, understanding the threats to conservation and wildlife values and knowledge of Visitor Risk Management principles and practices. Considerable knowledge and experience of leading and managing teams, showing a high level of self-motivation, and skills in organising and implementing works programs; scheduling work, setting and reviewing goals, and controlling and reviewing progress; including experience with contractors and volunteers; with a preference for experience in managing trail networks. Evidence of well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with experience in liaising with external organisations; including community groups, commercial tourism operators, other government agencies, other stakeholders and special interest groups. Experience in capital works and infrastructure development, maintenance and budget preparation, control and expenditure of allocated work projects.
