Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position with Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Nepean Hospital within the Department of Mental Health but provides a service across the Nepean Hospital campus. Successful applicants will draw on a biopsychosocial cultural and spiritual frame and work with an interdisciplinary team to provide care to consumers who present to physical health/general hospital settings with mental health concerns. Activities include assessment, care recommendations, support of the primary team and stakeholder engagement, and disposition planning. Candidates should possess or demonstrate that they are working toward the CL Advance Training. The number of sessions will be based on 0.7FTE over a two-week period and appointees will be required to participate in the consultant on-call roster. Session allocation will consider service need. Demonstrated expertise and experience in providing effective, high quality mental health services in a psychiatry setting; demonstrated commitment to person-centred, recovery oriented, family inclusive, trauma informed and need adapted principles of care.
