About the role: The Senior Policy Adviser will lead and contribute to strategic policy projects relevant to the Department of Health's Health Regulator as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of subject areas including (but not limited to) food safety, radiation safety, and health workforce regulation. These projects may include: legislative or regulatory reform projects across a range of regulatory areas relevant to the Health Regulator; leading and coordinating Victoria's contribution to national food regulation activities and forums; or short and long term Health Regulator strategies as well as strategy monitoring and evaluation. About you: You're a policy or regulatory professional comfortable working across a range of subject areas, seeking an opportunity to learn, grow and achieve. A sophisticated communicator, able to provide clear, comprehensive and concise advice on technical and complex issues to a range of stakeholders and to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders. You can lead and/or contribute to strategic, legislative and regulatory reform projects across a range of regulatory areas relevant to the Health Regulator offering high quality policy and strategic advice, options and recommendations to senior management and government based on comprehensive research and analysis. Identify patterns of needs across internal and external Health Regulator stakeholders and advocate to ensure specific needs of the Health Regulator and stakeholders are heard and factored into the formulation of broader changes. Tertiary qualified in fields related to public policy, regulation, economics, law, food safety, radiation safety, health or other relevant fields would be desirable, with knowledge of or experience in strategy or legislative and regulatory reform.
