The Role: Privacy Officer Salary banding: $125k to $135 K +Super +Salary Sacrifice We are seeking a dedicated Privacy Officer to oversee and manage our privacy and compliance obligations. As part of our Legal and Governance team, you will ensure that privacy legislation is upheld across the organisation and foster a strong privacy culture. Your role will be key in aligning privacy management with our mission, values, and strategic objectives. You will report directly to the Legal and Compliance Manager. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice on privacy laws (State and Federal) and ensure compliance. Oversee information requests from stakeholders and manage privacy-related incidents. Develop and implement privacy frameworks, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with legislation. Lead Privacy Impact Assessments and collaborate with IT and Cybersecurity teams to protect data privacy. Deliver privacy training, communications, and maintain records of privacy incidents. Contribute to the Security and Privacy Oversight Committee and action outcomes. Foster a culture of privacy awareness and collaboration across the organisation. Key Selection Criteria: Essential: Degree qualification or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), Australian Privacy Principles, and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role with responsibility for privacy compliance. Expertise in developing privacy policies, frameworks, and managing data breaches. Proven leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and deliver strategic outcomes. Experience in advising senior stakeholders and delivering high-level presentations. Current Drivers' licence Desirable: Certifications such as CIPP or CIPM. Experience within the not-for-profit sector. Personal History Checks: National Police Certificate.
