About the Company
This is a well-known global FMCG manufacturer in the inner-Western suburbs of Melbourne, operating a state of the art, highly automated production facility. They're concluding a large construction project and have a number of general site capital projects to execute for the remainder of the year, so are seeking a Project Engineer or Site Engineer on a contract basis. The role is initially until the Christmas break, but may extend into next year depending on the capital program.
About the Role
The nature of the projects are that the works are delivered by external suppliers and so the focus is heavily on site and contractor supervision, daily checks, ensuring that contractors are inducted properly, have the right tickets, that they're set up for the day and work is checked at the end, that works are conducted to designs, plans, and schedules, and that your site and engineering leadership team is kept engaged and informed. Importantly, you'll manage suppliers to deliver works to the advantage of the asset owner, and in line with high quality and safety standards, so as to ensure the best business outcome for projects.
About You
We're seeking someone who can manage contractors and suppliers conducting works on an FMCG manufacturing site. Likely you're an engineer in your early - mid career but we're open to maintenance and production leaders who have the same experience.
Minimum Requirements
Engineering degree or trades qualification
Experience managing contractors and suppliers on site
Experience on food and beverage manufacturing sites
Available at reasonably short notice and for the remainder of the year
Why Apply?
If your personal circumstances suit an interim position, such as that you're about to finish another job, return from travelling, or are here on a temporary visa, this can fulfill that gap for you within a team of people who are very easy to get along with, who are supportive, and working with a team of long established suppliers who know the site. You'll be reporting to a senior leader who has a portfolio across a large network of sites and may lead to other opportunities beyond this.
