By fostering excellence in rural healthcare, we aim to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities across the nation.Position Overview: Working closely with the Education Development Manager, Learning Designers, Learning Content Developers, and the Educational Development Coordinator, this role will be responsible for planning, designing, and developing a suite of projects as part of the College education and clinical training programs.Learning development projects range from asynchronous online courses to virtual workshops, blended clinical training courses, and face-to-face training sessions.This position provides a considerable amount of autonomy, requiring operational effectiveness and strategic vision and alignment. Success requires someone who has considerable experience creating content within an industry-standard learning management system using industry-standard content creation tools.Reporting to the Education Development Manager, the primary focus of this role will be the design and development of education programs and courses. You will work closely with medical subject matter experts to develop world-class courses and content for rural and remote doctors.This role will suit someone who enjoys working within a small team, with lots of opportunities to work autonomously, whilst working on projects that make a real difference to rural and remote doctors and their communities.Specific Role Responsibilities IncludePractice the principles of adult learning and instructional design.Design and develop engaging, high-quality eLearning and blended learning under tight timelines and competing priorities.High competence in the use of multimedia tools for the development of learning products.Highly desirable to include CANVAS LMS, Articulate, video and audio production (Adobe), Photoshop, H5P, and Project Management Software (Asana preferred).Strong oral and written communication skills, with an ability to translate medical and complex information for audiences with a range of learning needs.Manage relationships to ensure stakeholders are engaged, have a voice, and their needs are understood and acted upon where possible.Maintain specialist knowledge, seek advice, and collaborate with peers to keep abreast of industry best practices.Assist in the development of workflows and processes that model the effective production of online professional learning courses.Maintain learning solutions and content that are fit for purpose for the College and Members.Undertake quality assurance and manage product production plans to ensure deliverables are on time, on budget, and of a high standard.Be accountable for the management of projects in line with approved budgets and other funding arrangements.Key CompetenciesRelevant tertiary qualification in the field of education at a post-graduate level or equivalent.Highly desirable to be in the field of eLearning/adult education/health professional education or related discipline.Demonstrated experience in learning development in a professional context.Proven experience in design and development of programs of learning for professionals.High-level organisational, systems thinking, attention to detail, analysis, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.Experience and understanding of the educational specialty of medical education and the rural environment (or ability to rapidly acquire this understanding), including the ACRRM Rural Generalist Curriculum and relevant standards.Demonstrated skills in using multimedia tools for the development of learning products.This role is part of an expansion for the Education Development team, with an expanded program of works for the team.
