Lawson Elliott have partnered with a leading retailer to help support them in finding an experienced Financial Accountant. The role will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, as well as providing support and mentorship to junior members of the accounts team. In the role of Financial Accountant, you will: Compile monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Prepare financial statements for year-end. Oversee forecasting and budgeting for overhead and balance sheet accounts. Manage the company's weekly cash flow forecast. Handle tax compliance reporting, including payroll tax, BAS, and FBT. Identify and implement improvements for financial and accounting processes. Process payroll. Develop and manage financial policies and procedures. Support team members to balance workloads. Perform ad hoc tasks as needed. Review financial records for accuracy. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations. Maintain the fixed assets register and record monthly depreciation (both accounting and tax). Post entries to the general ledger, including accruals and prepayments. Complete monthly intercompany reconciliations. Review and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
