About The RoleIn this dynamic and flexible position, you'll report to the Senior IP Commercialisation Lawyer, Governance Officer and Company Secretary to deliver commercial legal, risk, and governance advice to support AVS's activities.
Key Responsibilities: * Collaborate with our IP Commercialisation team to negotiate critical agreements and unlock innovation.
* Draft, review and advise on contracts and IP License Agreements.
* Deliver forward-thinking advice on legal matters and champion compliance with organisational frameworks.
* Attend AVS's Audit & Risk Management Committee meetings.
* Enhance AVS's governance frameworks, ensuring alignment and consistency with Victorian Government policies and standards.
* Be the key point of contact for IT systems service providers, and security incident responses.
* Develop and deliver data security initiatives, embedding cutting-edge solutions to protect sensitive information.
* Enhance AVS' privacy framework ensuring alignment and consistency with applicable privacy policies and standards.
About You * A tertiary qualification in law (or related field) and admission to practice in an Australian jurisdiction.
* Demonstrated experience of PAE in commercial law and intellectual property law.
* Qualifications in intellectual property law are highly desirable.
* Proven ability to lead legal research and analysis, applying creative and advanced problem-solving skills to develop commercial solutions for complex systems, processes, and procedural challenges with a significant impact on the business.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities while delivering high-quality advice, reports, documentation, and information within tight timelines.
* Strong skills in preparing and delivering clear, concise advice, reports, presentations, and correspondence, tailored to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and high standards of communication.
* Capacity to build trust and rapport with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration, setting common goals, and overcoming barriers to effective knowledge and information sharing.
* Ability to gain a deep understanding of stakeholder needs and objectives, using this insight to prepare and negotiate fit-for-purpose, practical solutions.

The role is full time, but open to part time (0.6-0.8 FTE).
