Accounting Officer Permanent, full-time opportunity Osborne Park location, parking available on-site 76 hours per fortnight – hybrid working arrangements The opportunity Silverchain are seeking an Accounting Officer to join the Group Finance team on a permanent full-time basis.
This role will be responsible for effective, efficient and accurate bank reconciliation service and other accounting duties in an accurate and timely manner.
The role will also be working to assist the business with financially related funding claims and regulatory reporting processes.

Key responsibilities The major accountabilities of this position are: Reconcile the main trading bank accounts daily ensuring that every general ledger cashbook transaction and bank statement transaction is either matched against each other or flagged for investigation.
Reconcile the other bank, term deposits, investment and branch committee accounts weekly.
Review and reconcile branch committee bank accounts quarterly.
Investigate and correct unreconciled items daily.
Prepare all necessary bank journals.
Review all transactions appearing in the bank reconciliation process and work with systems support to automate as much of the process as possible.
Provide monthly reporting including the month end bank reconciliations on the various bank accounts for review.
Develop and maintain flowcharts, checklists and procedures that reflect current bank reconciliation practice.
Maintain the Register of Banking Operators.
Assist with accounting for and the reconciliation of profit and loss and balance sheet accounts to ensure financial record accuracy.
Preparation and lodgement of Australian Bureau of Statistics forms.
Assist in the process of funding claims and reconciliation of those claims.
Assist with end-of-month and end-of-year processes.
About you To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and obtained the following qualifications: Well-developed communication (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills to communicate to a large range of people and to effectively manage project outcomes.
Demonstrated advanced computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets and databases to create effective documentation and correspondence.
Previous experience in a similar role to provide efficient, accurate and timely support, assistance and recommendations of the finance function.
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills to review analyse and make recommendations to assist with daily problems and troubleshooting.
A formal professional/tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (or working towards) or relevant work experience it to assist business needs is required.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations System.
Demonstrated experience with Prophix reporting.
Demonstrated processing within industry related funding portals (i.e.
Services Australia, Medicare, ACFR, etc).
