Information Technology Services (ITS) Part-time (0.6 OR 0.8 FTE), permanent position Base salary will be in the range $80,523 - $89,505 (FTE) + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5) Based mainly at our Brisbane City location About This Opportunity The main function of this critical role is to provide timely and effective technical and troubleshooting support for Tier 1 and 2 IT service functions for clients across the University in either a Desktop or Audio-Visual support specialisation. The position will frequently be a major link between ITS and the client, requiring clear and effective communication to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.We are seeking a part-time team member for a position offering either 0.6 OR 0.8 FTE, with core work days on Saturday and Sunday. For a 0.8 FTE schedule, options include Thursday-Sunday, Friday-Monday, or Saturday-Tuesday. For a 0.6 FTE schedule, options are Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday. The role requires working at the City Site on weekends if UQ Teaching or UQ Functions are occurring, otherwise at St Lucia. Weekdays will be split between the City Site or Herston campus, coordinated by the reporting team leader. Due to the nature of the work, there is a start time requirement of 7:30am to support teaching needs.Key responsibilities will include: Promote and adhere to UQ’s Cyber Security Policy, supporting hardware and software issues for client, research, and teaching devices, including AV equipment, and providing both remote and on-site assistance. Utilize UQ tools and technologies to support Microsoft, Apple, and AV platforms, including IT asset management, network management, and M365 applications, ensuring timely resolution and escalation of issues. Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining high satisfaction levels while managing service requests, incidents, and problems, and updating knowledge bases and documentation. Assist in IT asset management, support computer laboratories and teaching spaces, advise on technical aspects of IT procurement, and contribute to projects related to computing or AV equipment. Experience supporting PC operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and Audio Visual systems, with a focus on remote and on-site assistance. Strong understanding of IT/Data security issues, solutions, and mobile technologies. Proven ability to provide customer service in an IT service management environment with excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to document processes and work instructions, interpret client requirements, and effectively prioritize tasks under pressure. High motivation, initiative, and the ability to collaborate within a geographically dispersed team. Experience working in project teams, with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain professionalism. Desirable: Knowledge of audiovisual technologies, server operating systems, emerging technologies, and familiarity with service management frameworks.
