ABOUT THE ROLE Marvel Stadium currently serves as the busiest multi-purpose stadium in the world, welcoming over two million patrons through its gates each year.
As well as hosting over 40 AFL matches each season, the Stadium hosts other sporting codes as well as many memorable concerts for some of the world's biggest stars, including Coldplay, Paul McCartney, P!NK and Oasis.

The Stadium Workforce Planning Manager reports to the Head of Stadium Operations and is responsible for managing a dynamic casual workforce across several disciplines including customer service, ticketing, guest experience, venue set up and car park.
Working as part of a dedicated, professional, and highly engaged team this role will suit industry professionals with either venue or major events experience.
Candidates will need to have proven experience in managing a large casual workforce with a complex organisation.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Key Accountabilities: Manage and schedule the workflow of a full-time team (x3) to ensure that the casual workforce is programmed and fully engaged to consistently deliver successful stadium events, activations, programs and activities Instill a positive culture throughout the workforce planning department driven by service excellence Create systems and processes that result in optimal workforce welfare and performance including strict information and data management Deliver rostering solutions and collaborate with internal stakeholders to encourage and implement workforce effectiveness and efficiency Oversee the accurate and timely delivery of workforce paperwork for weekly payroll Support the planning and delivery of a workforce rewards, recognition and tenure program Analyse stadium and workforce data to identify trends to build strategies that promote a positive culture, identify training needs and forecast workflow Be proactive and hands-on in event-day placement and performance management including managing event day escalations Directly coach and develop the full-time workforce planning team to foster a positive and performance driven culture Deliver dynamic recruitment, training and retention strategies that delivers a full portfolio of qualified, engaged and available casuals across the business Work collaboratively with other stadium and organisation departments to ensure information is shared, distributed, understood and actioned in full alignment with event objectives Establish and maintain client relationships supported by detailed planning and communications Ensuring that hirers successfully complete all induction requirements and adhere to stadium policies, procedures and protocols Establish an effective schedule of meetings and communications with internal stakeholders to facilitate the successful delivery of events Work cooperatively and proactively with internal stadium stakeholders to ensure operational knowledge, understanding and support is applied across all event overlay Take a lead role in managing the event-day workforce across all disciplines including the deployment, briefing and overall management that delivers exceptional experiences for all Initiate, develop and deliver workforce policies and procedures across all disciplines of the casual workforce Adopt a proactive and hands-on approach to working with event teams and personnel Assess and manage challenges with good judgement – including identifying when others require support and guidance Embrace opportunities and projects that support the overall effectiveness and efficiency of stadium operations OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER Core Competencies: 5 years' experience in workforce management in a complex casual workforce in a dynamic environment Experience with Deputy Workforce Management and Scheduling platform Demonstrated strong project planning skills across several stadium disciplines – customer service, venue set up, car park, ticketing etc Proven qualification in maintaining accurate employee records including the recording, reporting and documenting of performance management topics Familiarity in working to EBA guidelines including engagement with union representatives Strong knowledge of venue/ stadium / major event operations Sound understanding of Emergency Management and OHS requirements Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with consistent professionalism and composure Motivated and organised with the ability to work to deadlines across a non-traditional working week Well-developed interpersonal skills and negotiation skills Proven results in delivering highly effective communication across all formats and platforms Effective workforce management to support a high functioning and results driven team A team player who will positively contribute to overarching organisational goals and values A strong service mindset with a focus on service excellence OUR CULTURE Please visit www.afl.com.au/careers/our-organisation THE PERKS Play The Day Your Way – a flexible approach to your working life My Development – lean into the AFL's My Development program consisting of on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring, and formal learning Play Well – access to our extensive Health and Wellbeing program centered around our belief in a healthy body, healthy mind, and healthy workplace My Benefits – with thanks to our AFL Corporate Partners, access great benefits and discounts AFL Silver Memberships – permanent team members can access AFL matches at Marvel Stadium and the MCG, enjoy and share the experience of our game with your family and friends!
