About the Role Baptcare is an NDIS LAC Partner delivering NDIS Local Area Coordination Services in South Australia and Tasmania and an Early Childhood Intervention in Tasmania. The NDIS Workplace Trainer is responsible for organising, developing, and delivering training to NDIS Coordinators in the Local Area Coordinator (LAC) and NDIS Early Childhood Partner (ECP) teams. This role is pivotal to the professional development of the LAC & ECP Teams and will ensure a culture of continuous learning and support quality improvement, and actively support a mobile workforce by developing, delivering, and providing structured and unstructured education, development plans and training. This position provides consultancy advice to the Service Area Managers and Regional Managers in relation to operational and strategic development needs. The NDIS Workplace Trainer develops, delivers, and provides training within short timeframes, whilst also providing training and education on best practice, continuous quality improvement and high-quality services. The NDIS Workplace Trainer will support the work of the NDIS Coordinators, Service Area Managers and Regional Managers to meet the requirements of the Outcomes Assurance Framework to consistently perform at a low level of risk. Key Responsibility: Undertake all mandatory train the trainer training delivered by NDIA. Organising, developing, and delivering education and training to LAC & ECP teams. Training may be structured or unstructured, delivered face to face or virtually, and at a group or individual level. Education and training will include but not be limited to, technical support (including policy, procedures, systems, hardware & software), NDIA training, onboarding and induction and personal development. Effective liaison with key internal and external stakeholders, including the NDIA. Providing advice and recommendations to Baptcare leaders in relation to operational and strategic education and training needs, performance improvement and practice development, at an individual, team, organisational and systemic level. Make an active commitment to the development and maintenance of a cohesive team both within Baptcare and the NDIA. Participate in staff meetings, team meetings and staff development as required. Assist to measure and review performance against KPI requirements to meet contractual conditions. Complete monthly team audits, providing constructive feedback and training. Develop, organise, and support the teams in ILC work and projects. Maintains and updates knowledge of and consistently work within relevant standards and legislation including but not limited to the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (Vic), Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act 2009 (Tas), Child Safe Standards (Vic, but applicable to South Australia), Carer Recognition Act 2010 (Cwlth) and 2012 (Vic) and Work Health and Safety requirements. Key Selection Criteria Planning and organising - demonstrated experience in developing, organizing, implementing, and delivering a wide range of training, education and professional development initiatives to Teams and employees within timeframes, scope, and budgets. Problem solving - able to work within complex environments and be outcome focused. Continuous development - ability to accept constructive feedback from supervisors and stakeholders and apply continuous learning to keep abreast of developments in the industry. Collaboration - ability to work within a team environment by sharing information, supporting colleagues, and respecting different skills. Influencing skills - demonstrated ability to motivate others and act as a change agent through strengths based, person centred practice. Adaptive behaviour - must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children and with vulnerable people. Technical Expertise Comprehensive understanding of the Disability, Child, Youth and Family Services sector, including Child Protection, the requirements of the Disability Services Act 2011, and the Children, Young Persons and their Families Act 1997 and other key legislative reforms. A comprehensive understanding of the Disability services sector, National Disability Insurance Scheme & other key legislation and experience and understanding of personalisation, Human Rights and Citizenship for people with a disability. Experience in working with children and with vulnerable people. Alignment and commitment to Baptcare’s Mission, Vision and Values Essential: Certificate IV or above in Workplace Assessment and Training (or equivalent) or the commitment to obtain within 1 year of commencement.
