Selection Criteria Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of sensory motor development, sensory processing issues, and sensory theory. Demonstrated ability to participate in a team environment to develop collaborative working relationships with school staff, families, and community members. Demonstrated capacity to deliver a variety of occupational therapy interventions and recommendations with children from Foundation - Year 6. Demonstrated ability to work with students who present with complex needs and/or challenging behaviours. Role As an Occupational Therapist, you will work in our multidisciplinary team under the leadership of the Inclusion Learning Specialist and other allied health staff. You will assist students to access and participate in their school curriculum. Services are primarily school-based, relating to students' identified needs and curriculum-based objectives. The position would best suit an Occupational Therapist who is highly motivated, organised, and passionate. Responsibilities Provide Occupational Therapy, assessment, and intervention support to students and families. Regularly evaluate progress and outcomes, using relevant measures, and provide reports when necessary. Assess the school and learning space environments to identify modifications and supports that will improve student safety and promote independence. Work collaboratively with the Inclusion Leader, Classroom Teachers, Educational Support Staff, Allied Health, and Principal Class. Participate in observations and Student Support Group meetings. Provide recommendations to staff to facilitate adjustments that will improve student learning outcomes and well-being. Maintain records and relevant documentation in student files.
