About the role As a key member of our Accounting team, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting and preparation of financial reports for a portfolio of private ancillary funds, ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory requirements. You will: • Prepare accurate financial reports, investment reports, and workpapers to support audit clearance. • Work closely with bookkeepers and client advisory teams to manage queries from clients and their third-party advisors. • Ensure the acquisition of necessary financial information for reporting and compliance. • Provide guidance and support to junior team members, particularly for non-standard queries and reconciliations. None of our existing accountants knew about them before joining However, their experience with Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs) proved highly valuable. So, don’t be dissuaded if you’re unfamiliar with PAFs—if you have a strong accounting background, particularly in areas like SMSFs or trusts, you will be well-equipped to learn and succeed in this role. To effectively perform in this position, the successful candidate will require the following: Essential skills and experience • Professional Accounting qualification such as CA or CPA • Minimum 4 years’ experience in the preparation of financial reports and activity statements • Demonstrable experience in the preparation of and oversight of account reconciliations, balance sheets, P&L and cash statements • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures Desirable • Experience with CLASS • Experience in investment accounting or investment operations • Experience in preparing financials for a not-for-profit or ancillary funds • Experience in an accounting or professional services firm Attributes We’re seeking a team player—someone who is supportive, hands-on, and committed to excellence.
