The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for the full time position of Education Officer, Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing (ILW) - Secondary Diverse Learning, commencing 20 January 2025. The initial appointment will be for a period of three years after which a permanent teaching position will be negotiated within the system of schools.
The role is an integral part of the work of the Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing service area as part of the Wellbeing and Student Support team (WSS) K-12. This position has a focus on supporting students (7-12) with diverse learning, social, emotional, behavioural and wellbeing needs across the diocesan system of schools. The role will involve a high level of collaboration with families, relevant external agencies and various key stakeholders across CEDoW in support of individual case management and the implementation of Positive Behaviours for Learning (PB4L). It will also include the provision of support for schools in the enrolment and transition of students with diverse needs into CEDoW schools and other educational settings.
The successful applicant will also be required to work closely with members of the WSS team and ILW service area, in developing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating ongoing personal and professional learning formation and growth experiences for school staff and others.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
* A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church.
* Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with a particular capacity to inspire staff, build teacher collective efficacy and bring about change that is inspired by the CEDoW strategic goals.
* Demonstrated commitment to work in alignment with the Continuous Catholic School Improvement Framework and engage with an inquiry mindset and professionally partner with colleagues, parents and the wider school community.
* Capacity to work effectively as part of a dynamic, responsive team, seeking to provide high quality, differentiated and tailored support for schools.
* Experience within an educational setting with an understanding of effectively supporting students with diverse learning, wellbeing, mental health, behavioural and safety issues.
* Competencies including ability to: Interpret medical documentation and student’s eligibility for Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
* Experience in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating individual plans for students related to their diverse learning, social and emotional, and behavioural needs, preferably in a secondary school environment.
DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA:
* Evidence of formal study in the areas of special education and/or social and emotional and/or behavioural support for students.
* Experience as a middle leader or above in a school or educational services setting.
* Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in dealing with complex learning needs of students.
* Demonstrated understanding of CEDoW Diverse Learning Needs Policy and Student Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Policy.
* Experience in the implementation and maintenance of PB4L in a school setting.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
* Accredited with NESA to teach in NSW
* Minimum 10 years teaching experience.
* Accredited to Level C in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead Policy, or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment within CEDoW.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK
This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment at CEDoW.
