About the role
In this pivotal role, you will ensure the provision of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed mental health assessment, treatment, care, and support to Consumers and their Families, Carers, and Support People across Warrnambool and surrounding areas.
As the Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of more than 20 professionals, including Social Workers, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Psychiatric Enrolled Nurses, Peer Support Workers, Administrative Support Officers, and Medical Staff. You will work within a dynamic and connected service system geared toward achieving the best outcomes for those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead, manage, and coordinate a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, integrated mental health and wellbeing services.
2. Collaborate with psychiatrists and senior staff to ensure the efficient and equitable distribution of work, daily clinical practices, and operations.
3. Oversee recruitment, staff supervision, financial planning, and service planning.
Position overview
4. Permanent, Full Time Position (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly ADO
5. Warrnambool Campus
6. Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Gr5, Chief OT Gr3, Chief SW Gr3 or Psychologist Gr4
7. Salary Range: $126,885-$145,407 pro rata, plus superannuation
What You Bring:
Qualifications:
8. Nursing: Registered Nurse with appropriate tertiary qualifications, AHPRA Registration, and at least 5 years' experience in mental health services. Completion of a Post Graduate Diploma or Masters in Mental Health Nursing (or equivalent) is required.
9. Occupational Therapy: Degree in Occupational Therapy, AHPRA registration, and at least 7 years' experience in mental health services.
10. Social Work: Degree in Social Work, eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers, and at least 7 years' experience in mental health services.
11. Psychology: Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist and at least 5 years' experience in mental health services.
Experience:
12. Demonstrated experience in leadership and management within mental health services.
13. Extensive skills and experience across a variety of mental health services.
Skills:
14. Ability to relate effectively to a wide range of individuals and professional groups.
15. A transformational leadership approach with proven experience in leading teams through change.
16. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical personnel and communicate effectively at senior levels.
17. A strong sense of self-awareness that promotes engagement, innovation, resilience, and accountability within a multidisciplinary team.
18. The ability to manage complex and competing priorities, and to engage and inspire others in pursuit of shared goals.
