Mareeba Aged Care is in the Northern Rivers town of Maclean in New South Wales. We are just 600 metres from the sparkling Clarence River and 15 minutes drive from the coastal town of Yamba.

Our expertise covers dementia specific care and palliative care. We also offer short or long-term respite care and transport to and from your home to make accessing our respite care easier.
We are looking for Registered Nurses to join us. The responsibilities of the Registered Nurse will be:-
· To undertake comprehensive assessments that inform the planning, implementation and
evaluation of the holistic care needs of residents at Mareeba Aged Care.
· Collaborate with other Health Professionals and Teams to ensure best possible care to
the residents.
· To coordinate, supervise and delegate care activities to Enrolled Nurses (EN), Assistants
in Nursing (AIN) and other support workers employed at Mareeba.
· Respond to technological and legislative change.
· Administer medication and monitor responses to the treatments.
· Act as a point of contact for residents and their families to provide information about the
support being provided to the residents.
The RN is directly accountable to the Director of Nursing for compliance with this Position Description, performance standards and key performance indicators
To be successful for this position, you must possess the following:
Essential:
· A current RN registration with AHPRA
· Demonstrated leadership ability within a diverse team environment
· Excellent communication skills
· An understanding of and commitment to quality improvement principles
· Participation in ongoing professional development
· Have a current satisfactory Police Check
· Computer literacy or willingness to learn
Highly Desirable:
· Experience in caring for aged persons in a residential aged care setting
· Experience in geriatric, dementia, palliative, wound and or continence care
· Demonstrated understanding of the contemporary Aged Care issues
· Demonstrated understanding of Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI)
