Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.
In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.
The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Business Partner will support the development, maintenance and improvement of WHS and injury management strategies, culture and performance to our healthcare services across the onshore Immigration Detention network.
Join us in bringing a new approach to medical and wellbeing care for detainees by:
* Working alongside the WHS Manager to develop, tailor, implement, maintain and improve core WHS and injury management programs, policies and procedures.
* Providing advice, coaching and support to managers and employees on a range of WHS and injury management issues, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Supporting and coordinating the implementation, management and continual improvement of our WHS and injury management system framework.
* Ensuring effective communication strategies are delivered across the business, supporting positive change management and employee engagement, with travel to HCA sites as required.
* Liaising with regulatory authorities and other external stakeholders as required.

To be considered for this role, you will have:
* A current working knowledge of WHS legislation.
* A Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in WHS and/or similar discipline.
* Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
* Note: Experience in the Healthcare sector / Clinical environment will be highly regarded.
You will also have experience with:
* Delivery, maintenance, and review of WHS and injury management programs, policies and procedures.
* Audit & inspection programs.
* Supporting the development, delivery and improvement of safe systems of work.
* Physical and psychosocial risk management. An understanding of ISO 45001 and 45003 will be highly regarded.
* Incident, injury and emergency management.
* Coordinating WHS consultative arrangements.
* Supporting infection control and occupational health and wellbeing.
