This iconic Resort is situated between the renowned Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland. The resort comprises of 295 guest rooms, suites and villas.
Department
An opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Learning & Development Coordinator to join the HR team at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas. The position reports to the Senior Human Resources Manager.
The Position
The Learning & Development Coordinator is required to provide a high level of service to all associates and departmental managers, responding to queries across a wide range of areas and directing matters to the HR Manager as appropriate.
The Role
9-month temporary part-time maternity leave cover till End of February 2025.
Key Responsibilities
1. Meet with managers, department heads, and division leaders to discuss staffing and recruitment needs, and to identify required and desirable qualifications for open positions.
2. Design and implement learning strategies and plans based on the deficiencies identified through comprehensive Needs Assessments.
3. Develop and produce training materials, including facilitator and participant workbooks, manuals, brochures, job aids, and posters to support various training programs.
4. Prepare for and conduct training sessions, ensuring all materials are set up and classes are appropriately managed from setup to breakdown.
5. Create engaging and interactive training programs in multiple formats to enhance employee learning experiences.
6. Facilitate in-person training sessions for groups of employees, ensuring effective delivery of content and engagement with participants.
7. Oversee and ensure that all departments are conducting necessary safety training and orientation sessions, maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
8. Assist management in various HR functions, including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees to foster a positive and productive work environment.
