We're changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change?HumeLink West ProjectTwo CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project. HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.Working with guidance from the Environmental Manager you will ensure compliance with maintenance of ISO 14001 certification and Environmental Management Plan as well as Client contract specifications and Environmental Management Plans and relevant environmental legislation. Please note this role will initially be based in Sydney, with transition into a site delivery role requiring FIFO on a 15:6 Roster, where additional allowances will apply. Local based applicants would be highly considered.What will a day in this role look like:Establish and maintain Environmental Management Plans (EMP), associated procedures and records on environmental management to meet the client's requirements and ISO 14001.Provide environmental training and inductions on relevant environmental issues to UGL staff and sub-contractors and maintain records of such training.Co-ordinate weed inspections and washdowns of UGL and subcontractor plant and equipment as required by the client and legislation.Ensure that sediment and erosion control measures are installed and maintained to minimise the risk of environmental harm from UGL's construction activities.Review sub-contractors Environmental Management Plans, procedures, records and activities.In conjunction with the HSSE Manager develop and implement an audit program to monitor all the activities set out in the EMP for the project and maintain records of all monitoring activities undertaken.Record, Investigate and report on environmental incidents and complaints to the client and UGL management.Liaise with the client Environmental Officers over issues arising.Ensure that all measures are in place to avoid environmental penalties.Undertake all tasks in compliance with the Safety Management Plan, Quality Management Plan and associated procedures.What are we looking for you to bring to the team:5+ Years relevant construction or similar Environmental Advisor experience. Transmission, Substations and new energy experience is highly considered.Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental Science or an equivalent approved qualification.Database, Word Processing and Spreadsheet skills.Working knowledge of relevant environmental legislation.Prior working experience in ISO 14001:1996 Environmental Management Systems.Current Driver's License.Auditing Experience.About YouThe successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
