Kinetic IT is continuing to grow! We have recently established a new team, working with a new Federal Government customer and are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join us as we continue this exciting partnership. This role will also support another of Kinetic IT's core customer accounts, one day per week and on an ad-hoc basis.
About the role
We are looking for a skilled Desktop Engineer to provide technical support and maintenance for our organisation’s desktop computing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop support, troubleshooting, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Day-to-day duties will include:
1. Providing high-level face-to-face as well as phone and email support to customer staff on-site in Tasmania and in other offices nationally.
2. Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software components on desktops and laptops.
3. Collaborating with end-users to resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
4. Performing routine maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and system upgrades.
5. Monitoring and managing desktop security, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
6. Working closely with IT teams to ensure the smooth integration of desktop systems with other infrastructure components.
7. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of desktop configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
8. Developing and updating user guides to empower end-users to resolve common issues independently.
Keen to get involved? You will need some of the following:
9. Proven experience as a Desktop Engineer or similar role
10. Familiarity with hardware components, peripherals, and troubleshooting techniques
11. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
12. Current active Government Security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain high-level clearance
