Proudly serving the South East Qld community since 1999, Kummara provides family support and assistance in the field of child protection, health and wellbeing to local Indigenous and non-Indigenous families in South East Qld. We work in partnership with a number of government and community organisations across South East Queensland to improve the health and well-being of our communities.
Position Summary
Due to recent growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Practitioner to work within the Family Wellbeing team. You will be providing practice leadership and supervision to a team of Family Wellbeing Practitioners. You will deliver outreach programs and case work to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, children and caregivers to facilitate community connectedness, social learning and improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
This position works in partnership with community, other agencies and professionals to ensure families are well supported, creating opportunities and pathways for positive family functioning and wellbeing.
The role involves:
* Leadership, consultation and guidance to Family Wellbeing practitioners in the delivery of moderate to high needs outreach family support services within a child safe context.
* Provision of practice development, oversight and guidance across practice for the Family wellbeing team.
* Providing case management support to families.
* Leadership and participation in regular multidisciplinary meetings, supervision, case conferences and case review meetings to ensure a high-quality service delivery.
* Assistance with high-risk client escalation processes, where required.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or a related discipline.
* Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams in decision making and/or demonstrated experience in a range of mental health and/or child protection services facilitating case reviews/case consultation.
* Experience providing formal supervision and leadership in community services sector.
* High level written and verbal communication skills; you will be confident when documenting case notes and competent in using database systems.
* Excellent relationship building skills.
* Effective interpersonal skills (including but not limited to communication, conflict resolution, leadership and positive attitude).
* Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
