Reporting to the West Coast Service Manager, you will leverage your technical expertise to diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet, providing exceptional service to our clients in the rail industry.Key Responsibilities:Diagnostics and Repairs: Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on tampers and other railway maintenance machinery, focusing on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability and lifespan.Technical Leadership: Mentor and train junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices in equipment maintenance and repair.Customer Engagement: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide technical support, and deliver timely solutions.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, repairs, and inventory management in compliance with company standards.Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance and repair work adheres to safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.Field Support: Provide on-site technical support as required, responding to emergencies and urgent repair needs promptly.Qualifications:Education: Trade qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.Experience: Minimum of 5 years in servicing heavy machinery, preferably in the rail industry, with specific experience in tampers.Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in using diagnostic tools, and a solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating initiative and independence.Physical Requirements:Capability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings.Experience Requirement:5 years Maintaining Plasser Machinery (Essential)2 years Machine Operation (Preferable)What the role offers:Opportunity to work for an industry leader utilising Best Practice methodologyWorking with cutting edge technologyLifestyle Friendly RostersFly-in/Fly-out Capacity (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off)Attractive & Competitive RemunerationIf you are looking for a challenging and rewarding career, please APPLY NOW!
