Mission Statement :
To execute project design authority for control engineering disciplines with medium to high complexity within the Grid Edge Solutions, Microgrids and Battery Energy Storage business.
Coordinate and execute engineering assignments across several disciplines within the project scope and value chain - efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and business objectives.
The primary responsibilities will be control system design of Microgrids and BESS Systems and project engineering activities across diverse applications (e.g. Mining, Oil & Gas, grid scale storage, Commercial & Light Industrial).
Your Responsibilities:
1. You will develop and deploy control scheme for complex Grid Connected battery projects.
2. You will Manage design, integration, deployment, and commissioning process for control system both on-site and remotely.
3. You will act as a technical lead, approves design deliverables. Reviews all project documents for conformity and quality assurance. Anticipates and solves unprecedented problems, crucial issues and/or unique conditions. Serves as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts and methods.
4. You will assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).
5. You may represent function in standardization committees and in communication and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments. Acts as technical specialist support to project and team members. Collaborates and networks within Hitachi Energy and externally. Lead engineering teams.
6. You will review, develop, and document quality standards, processes, tools and techniques. Ensures that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements. Contributes towards continuous improvements of processes and tools for engineering efficiency.
7. You must ensure safe working procedures and practices are followed at all times including the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment; attendance at required health, safety and environment training; report injury, incidents, hazards and near miss events. Model safe work behavior in all aspects of work and actively identify hazards and risk controls.

Your Background:
9. Bachelor or master’s in electrical engineering discipline with three years’ work experience
10. Experienced with standard communication protocols: MODBUS, DNP3, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104 etc.
11. Understanding of a control system of Generator connection to the Grid: Spinning reserve, Frequency Control Ancillary services, Voltage support, Active power etc.
12. Familiarity with grid interconnection SCADA requirements for AEMO and various TNSP
13. Knowledge of Design and Commissioning of Control System in Renewable industry is preferred.
14. This role required time-to-time travel as per the project requirement.
