THE OPPORTUNITY
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Back of House Supervisor, under the guidance of the Back of House Manager to drive a high-performance and supportive culture within the team to ensure that back of house Kitchen and retail areas are maintained to a safe, clean and hygienic standard at all times.
The Back of House Supervisor will coordinate and manage the a large group of casual team members maintaining and cleaning our kitchens and retail outlets as required and legislated under government and Food safety requirements. The successful candidate will also assist with effective rostering, mentoring and training of all casual and fulltime BOH team members with safe chemical usage, storage and cleaning of all kitchen equipment.
Based at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, with time spent at Canterbury Park Racecourse where required.
THE RIGHT FIT
To be successful in this role, the right fit will possess:
* A collaborative and supportive approach at all times
* Proven Experience in the effective cleaning of a large catering venue
* A good knowledge and understanding of the correct storage and use of chemicals and appropriate PPE when using chemicals.
* A sound knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and HACCP principles – this will also be taught on the job as part of growth and development
* An ability to effectively manage time and meet event-based deadlines
* A good eye for identifying maintenance problems and managing any potential health and safety issues
* Experience or a willingness to learn how to develop and grow junior team member capability
