The Role
We have an exciting and fast paced opportunity to join the Infinite Aged Care team in the role of Chef Manager. Reporting directly to the Facility Manager and being a member on the site leadership team, this role is Monday to Friday, full-time permanent to be fully accountable for the day-to-day operations in the kitchen, whilst leading a small team operating the site Café and service functions.
A key success factor of this critical people leadership role will be to build and maintain high trust, respectful and professional relationships with your colleagues and support teams that underpins operational excellence and aligning to our core values here at Infinite Aged Care.
As the Chef Manager this role you find you deeply connected with our residents, actively seeking out feedback to help improve our food and nutritional operations and being an effective communicator on your vision, creativity and wellness attitude with food. Your team are just as passionate to providing high quality food and beverage service across the dining hall, in-house café, in-room dining refreshments and in-house events. Key Responsibilities
* Creating and overseeing 5-star quality meals for our Aged Care residents.
* Partner closely with the business, through the National and Regional Hotels Service Team, to improve food outcomes, and provide input on improving menus and developing a range of new services.
* Manage budgets and food safety processes.
* Always looking to improve services, to ensure our residents receive meals of the highest quality.
* Attend food focus resident meetings, listening, welcoming and thriving on their feedback.
* Partner with community education providers for student placements and VET programs.
* Be part of Infinites Chef Community and share great food creations across our portfolio.
This role is a physical role whereby you will do a lot of bending, squatting, lifting and pushing items to carry out your daily tasks safely. It is important you can perform these tasks without risk of injury to yourself, your colleagues and our residents.
Who are you?
* Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery.
* Have a valid Food Safety Supervisors certificate.
* Proven experience as a culinary leader, with a passion for creating exceptional food.
* Hold a resident-centric mindset which flows through to all aspects of your work.
* A progressive leader who is experienced with coaching and mentoring others.
* Exceptional communication skills and ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders.
* Ability to learn and desire to continuously develop as a result from feedback provided by residents and managers.
* Commitment to attend safety specific training and upskilling sessions paid for by the company.
* Previous experience in Aged Care or the Health sector will be an advantage.
