How We Work
UnitingSA operates five aged care facilities located in West Lakes, Seaton, Hawksbury Gardens, Wesley House, and Westminster Vilalge. These sites serve as permanent homes for our residents, so it is crucial that we create a comforting and homely atmosphere. Whether through social activities, delicious meals, or comfortable living spaces, the care we provide significantly impacts our residents' experiences.
Our Hotel Services team delivers quality hospitality alongside our clinical and personal care teams, ensuring residents receive comprehensive care every day. We value teamwork, continuous learning, and open communication, ensuring that all team members have the tools, training, and support needed to succeed.
A Day in the Life of a Housekeeping Services Assistant
* Arrive at the aged care facility and greet your team.
* Attend a morning briefing to receive cleaning assignments and any specific requests from residents or staff.
* Gather necessary supplies and cleaning equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control guidelines and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
* Clean resident rooms, including:
*
o Vacuuming carpets and rugs, dusting furniture, and polishing fittings.
o Making beds with fresh linens to ensure residents' comfort.
o Cleaning wash basins, mirrors, tubs, and showers, maintaining high hygiene standards.
o Tidying personal items while respecting residents’ privacy and preferences.
* Clean shared areas, such as dining and common rooms, by:
*
o Sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors to uphold a safe environment.
o Wiping down surfaces, dusting furniture, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the facility.
* Using the iClean and Interclean systems, you’ll streamline cleaning processes and maintain real-time compliance with hygiene standards.
* Check and clean vacated rooms, ensuring that all cleaning chemicals are used appropriately and safely.
* Participate in regular checks of supplies, reporting any shortages or equipment issues to the Supervisor.
* Reflect on the day’s achievements, ensuring that the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort are provided for residents.

It’s All About You!
We are looking for you if:
* You have full work rights in Australia (essential).
* You hold a current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential).
* You have demonstrated experience working in an aged care setting, hotel environment, or health setting (desirable).
* You have experience with the iClean and Interclean systems (desirable).
* You possess knowledge and experience in using commercial cleaning equipment effectively.
* You are knowledgeable about safe work practices relating to chemicals, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* You understand infection control principles and are committed to maintaining a hygienic environment.
* You can work with minimal direct supervision, taking initiative in your tasks and responsibilities.
