Mirning Traditional Lands Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (MTLAC) represents the native title rights and interests of the WA Mirning People.
The Mirning Determination area is situated on the Nullarbor Plains region of WA from the SA/WA border to Caiguna in the west, and from the Great Australian Bight shorelines to the Transcontinental lines in the north.
About the role We are seeking a dedicated and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who has worked in the native title sector and has experience managing at an executive level.
The CEO will drive MTLAC's success through strategic leadership, operational excellence and strong governance, ensuring the organisation delivers on its cultural, commercial and community objectives. This includes overseeing financial sustainability, human resources, stakeholder engagement and delivery of cultural and commercial objectives.

You have the ability to motivate and inspire, and experience building and maintaining meaningful stakeholder relationships. You have strong project management and financial management skills.

Key Duties Reporting to the Board of Directors, your core duties will include: Ensure MTLAC maintains the appropriate office and business systems to meet the corporation's needs. Develop, enhance, and maintain essential organisational policies for approval by the Board of Directors and ensuring implementation in day-to-day operations. Ensure MTLAC meets all its Native Title and Governance reporting requirements as a RNTRB and registered ORIC Corporation, including attendance at all board meetings, General Meetings and Native Title Holder meetings. Engage and manage professional service advisors as required to assist MTLAC in achieving its objectives. Be accountable for the maintenance, both financial, governance and operational of agreements MTLAC has entered and ensure compliance. Develop appropriate systems and pathways to empower and train Board members in sound corporate governance and leadership. Work with and oversight of MTLAC Subsidiaries such as Mirning Green Energy Limited (MGEL), relationships with business partners, stakeholders and build organisational capacity utilising stakeholder relationships. Coordination of MTLAC sub-committees and the negotiation of agreements with proponents. Establish and manage the timely and effective communication of information to Mirning community members. Oversee the financial management of MTLAC through working with administrative staff, professional service advisors and the Board of Directors to ensure clarity of activity and appropriate use of funds. Manage MTLAC's human resource requirements, in particular the employees of MTLAC. Identify and coordinate the delivery of staff training, induction and development and promote training and development opportunities to members of the Corporation where possible. Setup, manage and monitor an organisational approach to risk management, ensuring that risk management is aligned with the direction of the MTLAC Board. Provide regular updates, financial and non-financial reports to the MTLAC Board at Board meetings. Selection Criteria We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities: Demonstrated experience working at an executive officer level. Demonstrated knowledge and application of the Native Title Act (1993) and its practical application. Proven experience in working with and establishing relationships with Indigenous people and building trust in the community. Demonstrated track record of success in developing and maintaining highly effective relationships with a broad range of external stakeholders. Demonstrated knowledge and application of program and policy development, financial and human resource management and risk management frameworks. Experience obtaining funding and contracting with funding bodies and government for the delivery of projects. Ability to lead in communicating in high level meetings, committees and community meetings. Ability to promote a work environment that empowers, motivates and develops the diverse talents of all employees, ensures an optimum level of appropriately skilled employees and maximises staff performance. Willingness to regularly travel to meet and interact with the Mirning community and external stakeholders. Intending applicants should be aware that the position is based in Perth, however periodic travel to Mirning Country, regional areas and interstate will be necessary.
Salary & Benefits A competitive salary of between 150K and $180K plus superannuation will be negotiated based on skills and experience. Not for profit salary packaging (up to $15,899 per year) is available.
