Our client is a small agency with significant mandates for driving once-in-a-generation change.They have already attracted high-performing finance professionals to the team so this is a great opportunity to be part of a team where your work will contribute to a big investment in Australia’s future.The OpportunityThis is a good opportunity for either a procurement or financial operations specialist looking to expand their skills to a broader role to help their professional development.This is a career defining opportunity to influence Australia's push towards sustainability and technological advancement.You’ll be able to work from home two days per week, and this role is also available as a part-time opportunity (four days per week).This role is available as permanent s26 transfer opportunities and is based in Canberra.The RoleKey responsibilities include:Providing procurement support to ensure value for money is achieved on purchasesEnsuring Procurement policies, procedures and supporting documents are updated to meet organisational requirements and obligationsManaging the accounts payable and accounts receivable functionManaging Travel and Credit Card processes and ensure policies, procedures and supporting documents are updated to meet organisational requirements and obligationsProviding organisational support for employees with credit cards and travel to ensure they are to comply with their obligationsAssisting in maintaining finance policies and proceduresThe Ideal PersonYou could either come from a procurement background, or be a financial operations professional who is eager to broaden their knowledge in procurement.Whilst having strong experience in either financial operations or procurement in federal government is critical, you will be naturally curious and keen to understand how the business works so that you can contribute towards ongoing process and systems improvements.As this is a small finance team, you will be a real team player and enjoy helping your colleagues out when workloads are high.A natural affinity to systems is important as our clients’ systems will be continuously evolving.
