Our researchers have strong cross-disciplinary alliances and collaborate extensively with relevant domestic and international organisations to ensure that our research addresses real-world problems and has direct impact at an individual, community, and global level.We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lecturer with expertise and leadership in Environmental Health and Occupational Hygiene to join the School of Medical and Health Sciences. The successful candidate will play a key role in educating and inspiring the next generation of environmental health officers to support the critical shortage in Australia.The role requires expertise in national health regulations and compliance, food and water safety and monitoring, control pollution and vectors, and mitigation strategies and pre-emptive controls, as well as outreach education for communities to protect public health in response to emergencies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to teach in leading nationally accredited courses in Australia and work within a supportive research environment and build on the reputation of innovative curriculum and engage in impactful research in environmental health and occupational hygiene.Key Responsibilities:Deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions in environmental health/occupational hygiene at undergraduate and postgraduate courses.Develop and deliver course materials to reflect current industry standards and research, using contemporary educational approaches and technologies including flexible online delivery for adult learners.Mentor and support students in their academic and professional development.Conduct and publish original research in the field of environmental health and occupational hygiene.Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.Participate in community outreach and engagement activities.You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence, and Courage.Benefits & RemunerationThis full-time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $113,918 to $134,596 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.ECU supports a work/life balance for staff.
