Robe River Services is currently seeking a Supervisor for our Grounds Maintenance contract, FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Karratha to remote mine site locations to join the team. This is initially a 6-month contract.
About the role:
* Plan, oversee, coordinate, and inspect the work of Grounds Maintenance personnel in the planting, cultivation, irrigation, and care of various grounds landscape plants and ground covers
* Supervise pest and weed control spraying, pruning, tree trimming, and minor tree surgery
* Direct the preparation of facilities for various events and specialized grounds assignments
* Supervise the maintenance, repair, installation, and modification of irrigation systems
* Establish and adjust work schedules as required
* Facilitate Pre-Start Meetings providing clear instructions and guidance to grounds maintenance personnel to ensure effective task execution
* Mentor and instruct staff in proper use of various types of equipment, including power mowers, saws, sprayers, line trimmers, shears, and other attachments used to maintain grounds
* Liaise daily with client representatives, building client relationships
* Participate and be involved with cost control practices.
* Audit and monitor the quality of the team daily reporting.
* Provide assistance with Grounds Maintenance processes and procedures.
* Contribute to team planning meetings as required
* Effectively set expectations for behaviours and performance for all team members
* Prepare for and manage all Health, Safety and Environment and Emergency Response situations, ensuring that all personnel are trained in all client and RRS safety and emergency protocols
* Ensure all client and companies Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental policies and standards are complied with at all times, conducting regular safety inspections and training sessions.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in Grounds Maintenance Supervision
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams to complete project timeframes in a safe manner
* Demonstrated ability to interpret and read plans
* Strong understanding of the Pilbara region and relevant mining knowledge.
* Excellent understanding and high regard of health & safety obligations
* Experience at all stages of the project life cycle
* Proven experience in effectively leading and creating a proactive, safe, and supportive team culture.
* High-level culturally sensitive communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to:
o Work effectively with and for Aboriginal people
o Model desired workplace behaviours
o Effectively resolve conflict
o Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with a spectrum of stakeholders
* Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
Roster:
* 5 days on, 2 days off roster, however can be negotiated
