An exciting position exists for a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse to join the team as a Nurse Unit Manager at a private hospital in Sydney.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational management of Anaesthetic and Recovery Registered Nurses within Operating Theatres.
Your responsibilties will include:
* Being accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources;
* Being a positive mentor and providing clinical leadership and support to your team;
* Working with and supporting other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes;
* Assisting in shaping organisational strategy, improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
* Current AHPRA registration;
* Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in anaesthetic and recovery;
* Effective management of rostering processes and allocation of duties of both clinical and non-clinical staff;
* Post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded;
* Commitment to improvement and excellence in the delivery of outcomes;
* WHS responsibility and leadership in risk minimisation;
* Ongoing activity analysis;
* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage resources and experience in implementing sustainable change.

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital is a 142-bed facility offering a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, delivering exceptional patient care across multiple specialties. The facility features six modern operating theatres, a day surgery unit, and a dedicated endoscopy suite, supporting specialties such as orthopaedics, general surgery, colorectal, plastic surgery, ENT, urology, ophthalmology, and vascular surgery. Critical and specialized care is provided through an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, and a special care nursery, ensuring advanced support for patients with complex needs. Rehabilitation services include inpatient and outpatient programs, complemented by a hydrotherapy pool and two fully equipped gymnasiums. Additional specialties include obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, general and geriatric medicine, respiratory medicine, and gastroenterology, with on-site radiology and pathology services for streamlined diagnostics.
