The Role
In the role of Principal Engineer (Civil) you will support the Manager, Project Planning and Corridor Management in delivering major infrastructure and preservation planning projects. You will also lead project managers, project engineers, and contractors, offering effective guidance and direction to ensure the successful planning of infrastructure projects.
Some of your responsibilities, including, but not limited to (refer to role description for further details):
* Investigate and resolve complex issues associated with projects and prepare submissions and reports relating to planning and technical issues to improve overall performance to ensure that project outcomes, best practice, value-for-money and effective project delivery is achieved.
* Engage directly with TMR technical Subject Matter Experts (SME) to undertake specific project review activities to assure a quality outcome acceptable to TMR and the Federal Government and with TMRs Project Evaluation Unit (PEU) to ensure Project Assurance Framework (PAF) project governance requirements and processes are being implemented for your projects.
* Monitor and report on the progress of works against predetermined time, cost and quality specifications and manage resources across competing priorities to optimise outcomes and provide regular and accurate reporting to TMR senior management and the Project Leadership Team (PLT) on project status including risks and opportunities.
* Apply expert contractual knowledge to establish effective procurement mechanisms and contracts and actively manage the performance of external engineering consultants.
Mandatory Qualifications And Conditions
* A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
* Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.
* A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence
* Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history screening and declaration of serious discipline history will be required to be completed.
* Must be eligible to work in Australia.
