About the opportunity
Join our dynamic team at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Tuberculosis, led by Professor Greg Fox and Professor Ben Marais, where we are dedicated to advancing research and operational excellence in the fight against tuberculosis. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to manage and support our strategic and operational initiatives.
The Tuberculosis Centre for Research Excellence Manager will provide strategic and operational support to ensure the effective implementation of our strategic plans. This role involves coordinating operational strategies, supporting administrative functions, and serving as a key point of contact for the leadership team.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
o Provide high-level executive support and manage day-to-day operational and administrative activities.
o Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures through effective administrative systems and practices.
o Facilitate information flow, draft and review correspondence, and manage complex travel arrangements.
o Oversee expenditure, payment processing, and assist with risk and health and safety management.
o Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and manage the performance and development of a team of operations staff.
About you
o Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
o Extensive experience providing high-level support and advice at a senior level.
o People management experience, including managing staff performance and development.
o Experience in the development and improvement of systems and processes.
o Financial management experience, including budget management.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and strong computer literacy.
o Excellent strategic thinking, decision-making, planning, and organizational skills.
o Strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented approach.
o Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
