Position Information Liverpool West Public School, situated on Darug land in southwestern Sydney, in the Liverpool Principal Network, is a dynamic P-6 school that celebrates its rich diversity and acknowledges its ties to the Cabrogal clan of the Darug nation. The school provides quality educational programs for an enrolment ranging between 690-710 students, which includes between 35-45 students identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Notably, 83% of our student body comes from linguistically diverse backgrounds, with approximately 16-20% being newly arrived and/or having refugee experiences. With a Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) of 158, Liverpool West Public School is committed to catering to a wide range of needs, including those of students enrolled in Coota Gulla, a designated Aboriginal preschool, and students in the four support unit classes. Selection Criteria Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching students with autism, mild and moderate intellectual disabilities. High level of communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, support staff and external agencies to maximise student outcomes. Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum and design, implement and monitor individualised learning and support programs to meet the learning and wellbeing needs, goals and interests of students and the ability to promote inclusion. Demonstrated ability to build and contribute to a positive school culture and school-wide wellbeing practices with a capacity to make a broader contribution to whole school activities.
