The Team:
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a tertiary level clinical mental health service, providing triage, assessment, treatment and support to young people aged 0-18 and their families statewide. The multidisciplinary team works across several sites and provides a therapeutic service for both inpatients and outpatients across Tasmania.
The Role:
As a senior clinician within a multidisciplinary team delivering person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care to all individuals accessing child and adolescent mental health services, and in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies:
* As a CAMHS Patient Flow clinician you will be working within a larger team, triaging referrals for statewide CAMHS
* Providing phone assessment and ascertaining level of risk, offering support, psychoeducation and assistance to families and health professionals
* Providing recommendations for ongoing support and follow-up
Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $114,851 - $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

* Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualifications; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom
* Current Working with Children Registration
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
