About the Role Fractional Ongoing positions available to commence from both February and April 2025.
Positions will be based at both Dandenong and/or Moorabbin Hospital sites.
The appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in this role will be responsible for: Support and assist the Director of the Orthopaedic Unit, Monash Health in the provision of high quality Orthopaedic Services at all campuses within the organisation consistent with the Monash Health values.
Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.
Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care.
Be immediately available for urgent consultation and assistance in resuscitation and subsequent management of critically ill or injured patients.
Be available to participate in after-hours trauma service.
Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles in the Orthopaedic Unit, Monash Health.
Support the Orthopaedic Unit's outreach services within Monash Health.
Contribute to the professional and corporate life of Monash Health by participation in appropriate committees.
Contribute to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation to ensure Monash Health provides high quality accessible Orthopaedic Services within allocated resources and meets the needs of Monash Health patients.
Supervise Junior Medical Staff in your Unit and ensure that when on-call or on ward service, clear instructions are provided on when and how junior staff reporting to you should contact you for patient related matters Build supportive relations with Junior Medical Staff who report to you and encourage open communication including escalation of clinical and non-clinical concerns.
