The Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Works Supervisor role includes:
Development and implementation of the annual road construction, road maintenance, and capital works program in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer. Manage and monitor all Works activities in close consultation with the CEO to ensure the Shire's Annual Works Program is delivered on schedule. Collaborate with the CEO to prepare the Annual Works Budget and monitor expenditure. Ensure budget tracking is undertaken, and projects are completed to the specific standard, within budget and on time. Co-ordinate and monitor contractors for road maintenance and Capital Works Programs. Co-ordinate repair of equipment and supplies for road maintenance, drainage, construction, reserves, and capital works projects as per the Shire's purchasing policy and procedures. Be responsible for all day-to-day administration work relevant to the organisation of, and wellbeing of, the employees. The successful candidate will ideally have exceptional organisational skills, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills while modelling a can-do attitude and being a collaborative team player. Also required, although not limited to:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent demonstrated experience (Advanced skills in written and oral communication). At least 2 years' experience in the supervision of road construction and maintenance within Local Government. Highly developed skills using relevant software programs, digital tools, and social media. Hold a current unrestricted HR class drivers licence. The right to live and work in Australia and a National Police Clearance. The Package
The position is offered under a performance-based contract of up to three (3) years with an attractive remuneration package, ranging from $150,000 to $175,000. More details of the package inclusions are available in the Information Package available on our website.
