The opportunity ASIO is seeking to fill several trades positions, which support a range of essential services that enable ASIO to deliver on its mission. Role responsibilities As a trades professional at ASIO, you will: Apply your specialist skills to proactive and preventive maintenance to ensure ASIO's headquarters, the Ben Chifley Building, runs smoothly in support of ASIO's mission 24/7. Use your trade and professional skills to help ensure ASIO accommodation is sustainable, secure and fit for purpose. What you will bring We invite applications from people with the following attributes: A license (or the ability to obtain a license) without restriction to practice your trade in the ACT. Sound judgement to ensure ASIO runs effectively. The ability to work as part of a close-knit team of trades specialists, including assisting other trades and functions as required. Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach to your work. In addition to the above, at the SIE(E) 1 (APS5) level you will have: Post apprenticeship/training experience in your trade (or multiple trades). In addition to the above, at the SIE(E) 2 (APS6) level you will have: Multiple years of experience in your trade (or multiple trades). Experience in supervision and mentoring junior tradespeople of various trades. The ability to leverage experience and knowledge to support future planning through providing technical expertise. In addition to the above, at the SIE(E) 3 (EL1) level you will have: The ability to manage a team's day-to-day operations to meet ASIO's requirements. Significant experience in your trade (and/or experience in multiple trades). Experience in mentoring junior and other trades professionals. Confidence in providing detailed subject matter expertise and advice to management. The ability to identify and suggest improvements and strategic change for consideration by management. The ability to provide technical support to compliance and other executive/strategic reporting as required.
